Reforming The Criminal Justice System
As someone who has personally faced the challenges of being behind prison bars, I have a unique perspective on how to best 1) prevent and fight mass incarceration and 2) restore and rehabilitate prisoners. I am familiar with the ins and outs of the criminal justice system, and I care deeply about helping America restructure the way we approach our incarcerated brothers and sisters. As such, I am involved with programs that help people successfully transition from prison and become contributing members of society, as well as preventative programs that support vulnerable youth. My background as a pardoned felon, my heart for the imprisoned, and my passion for reducing recidivism rates make me an empowered candidate to reform the way our state and our nation address criminal justice.
